Position: Principal officer  

Location: Tanzania and Kenya

We are looking for a reinsurance professional with sound knowledge of reinsurance treaties and familiar with statutory requirements to take the role of Principal Officer.

Responsibilities:

• To provide the industry with reliable and financially sound reinsurance support and reduce the existing dependency on foreign reinsurance broking firms.
• To arrange for the retrocession treaties to reinsurers 
• Arrange reinsurance support to insurers to enable them to underwrite large and complex risks like Oil and Gas, Bankers Blanket policies, Liability policies, large infrastructure projects, Aviation Insurance, Port package policies etc. 
• To impart reinsurance training to Underwriters. 
• Guiding the insurance companies in devising appropriate reinsurance programs to optimize maximum premium retention within the country. 
• To provide reinsurance support of the Insurance companies to ensure that the treaty conditions are met with so as to avoid any issues at the time of major claims. 
• To assist the Insurance Companies in devising appropriate Pooling arrangements to locally underwrite large and complex risks 
• To provide Insurance companies suitable report on the performance of their reinsurance program. 
• Undertake any technical study/ research on reinsurance as may be required by the industry. 

Requirements:

• A degree or a diploma in insurance from a recognized institution.
• Evidence of at least five years experience in insurance /Reinsurance business.
• Ability to visualize a proposed system and be able to build it
