Job Description

The role of a Manager – Human Resources and Administration is to oversee all aspects of the company and its subsidiaries’ human resources management and administrative functions to ensure it operates efficiently and effectively in alignment with the Organization Strategic Plan. The role holder is responsible for developing and implementing Human Resources strategies, policies and procedures, as well as providing leadership and guidance to the administrative team.

Responsibilities

HR Strategy Management

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategic plans.
  • Talent Development and Succession Planning
  • In collaboration with the company ’s management team, identify and cultivate high-potential employees to develop a talent pool to fill future leadership roles.
  • Under the guidance of the Director of Finance develop and coordinate the implementation of the company ’s Succession Plan.
  • Track progress and make adjustments to the succession plan as needed.

Capacity Building

  • Carry out training needs assessments in collaboration with management so as to identify gaps and recommend appropriate training interventions.
  • Develop and implement programs to improve employee skills and knowledge, aligning with the company ’s goals.
  • Develop and coordinate the implementation of the company ’s annual training plan.

Culture Change Management

  • Participate in the development of a comprehensive culture change strategy that aligns with the company ’s vision, mission, values and goals.
  • Lead the development and implementation of initiatives to shift the company ’s employees’ culture towards desired values and behaviors through communication, training and performance management.
  • Measure the impact of culture change initiatives and make adjustments as needed.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Under the guidance of the Director of Finance and Administration, coordinate the administration of payroll and benefits programs.
  • Coordinate the conducting of salary reviews and adjustments.
  • Oversee employee wellness, health and safety programs.
  • Nurture a positive working environment.

Oversee Employee Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Draft job descriptions and advertise job vacancies.
  • Screen resumes and coordinate job interviews.
  • Facilitate the selection of qualified candidates and job offers.
  • Working with the company ’s management team, develop and implement onboarding programs for new employees.

Employee Relations and Development:

  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with Labour laws.
  • Address employee concerns and facilitate the resolution of employees’ grievances.
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of training programs.
  • Advise the company ’s management on employee relations issues.

Compliance and Administration:

  • Stay up to date on Labour law and regulations provisions.
  • Coordinate the review and implementation of Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Facilitate the conduction of investigations and handling of employee disciplinary

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, Law or any other HR related field.
  • Master’s degree and Certification in HR will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in a Managerial HR role.
  • Experience in using HR Information system data analytics to measure HR effectiveness and inform strategic decision-making
  • Proven track record of success in handling HR and administrative functions
