Position: Maintenance Worker

Dar es Salaam 

Position Overview

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Dar es Salaam is looking for a competent and reliable Maintenance Worker for the Embassy and official residences starting in June/July 2026.

Duties

• Maintenance of Embassy and official residences
• Carrying out small repairs
• Oversee and coordinate outsourced maintenance and repair service providers
• Assigning and supervising external contractors
• Capacity of carrying and lifting small items/objects and outdoor work
• Perform other duties as assigned by Embassy administration
• Assistance with the preparation and execution of building measures
• Acquisition and administration of office material; record keeping
• Running errands

Requirements

• Completed school education and at least 5 years work experience
• Relevant vocational training in skilled trades, building services preferably as qualified electrician
• Ability to work in a team, resilience, engaging demeanor; courteous and helpful manner
• Driving license (Class B) and several years of driving experience
• IT knowledge
• Non-Tanzanian applicants must possess residence and work permit for the United Republic of Tanzania (The Embassy cannot provide support in the procurement process)

Language skills:

• Very good English skills (writing & speaking) Kiswahili (writing & speaking)

Additional desired skills:

• Knowledge of German
• Experience in a similar role
• Truck driving license
