We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated lead kindergarten teacher to join our preschool in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Our school follows an emergent curriculum inspired by the renowned Reggio Emilia’s educational approach. Education: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Salary: Competitive, with an ideal net salary set at 1.2 million Tanzanian Shillings
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a preschool or early
childhood setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Foster a strong sense of community and collaboration among students, teachers, and parents.
- Observe and document children’s progress and development and provide regular feedback to parents.
- Plan and facilitate a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, music, language development, sensory exploration, and outdoor play.
- Develop and implement engaging documentation based on the Reggio Emilia approach and emergent curriculum.
- Support children’s social and emotional development through positive guidance and modeling.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to enhance the overall educational program.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a preschool or early childhood setting.
- Familiarity with the Reggio Emilia educational approach or play-based teaching and its principles.
- Passion for working with young children and a deep understanding of their developmental needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively
collaborate with parents, staff, and students. - Creativity, flexibility, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of individual learners.
- Fluency in English (both spoken and written) is required. Knowledge of Swahili is a plus.
