Job Description

As a Junior Network Administrator, you are responsible for assisting in maintaining and supporting the organization’s network infrastructure. This entry-level role involves ensuring reliable connectivity and secure communication to support immigration systems, including case management and data exchange.

Responsibilities

  • Network Monitoring: Assist in monitoring network performance to ensure availability and reliability for all users.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve basic network issues under the guidance of senior network administrators.
  • System Setup: Help with the installation and configuration of network hardware, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Security Support: Assist in implementing basic network security measures, including updating firewalls and antivirus software.
  • Documentation: Maintain records of network configurations, updates, and troubleshooting activities.
  • User Support: Provide technical support to staff, resolving network-related issues promptly.
  • Backup Assistance: Support data backup and recovery processes to ensure network integrity.

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience

  • Diploma or associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in IT or network support (internship experience is acceptable).
  • Familiarity with networking concepts such as IP addressing, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Basic understanding of network hardware, including routers and switches.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of network monitoring tools and software.
  • Fluency in both English and Kiswahili (spoken and written).
  • Previous experience in the aviation industry is a plus.
  • Tanzanian national only.
