Reporting to: Head of SAM
Hours of Work: 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday
Additional hours as required by workload
Responsible for: Written off Unit
1. PURPOSE Of JOB
Ensure focused attention on and closely monitor the performance Written off portfolio. A clearly defined strategy for following of and settling with written off accounts must be documented on each name .
2. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
– Proactive portfolio management through daily calls, emails, letters, meetings etc
– Proactive recovery of written off loans ad projects under distress
– Attend Court sessions of all legal cases and review status of the same
– Daily follow up and tracking of all written off loans
– Immediate review and identification of settlement strategy for the written off accounts. Aggressive follow up on the implementation of strategy to ensure delivery within minimum time possible
– Daily follow up of collateral facility, or KYC documentation deficiencies to ensure closure within the agreed timeframe
– Timely issuance of statutory demand notice as per SAM procedures.
– Periodic reports prepared for management review and action both on and off the system
– Corresponding with key internal stakeholders for example the business teams etc
– Corresponding and meeting with customers. Be a key contact person for clients in your portfolio on all banking matters e.g. facility, transactional
– Preparation of settlement requests or memos for presentation to the management
– Continuous development of a efficient and cost-effective recovery process.

3. COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS
– Negotiation and Recovery Management skills to effectively perform special Assets management activities/ task in a manner that consistently produce high quality of service.
– Relevant knowledge of legal matters and practice in legal recovery as well as experience in the attendance of court hearing, arbitration, mediation, and other tribunals.
– Knowledge and effective application of all relevant banking policies, processes, procedures and guidance to consistently achieve required compliance standards or benchmarks.
-Self-empowerment to enable development of open communication, teamwork and trust that are needed to support performance and customer-service oriented culture.
-interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with and manage customer expectations (internal and external) and other stakeholders who impact performance.
– Planning and organizing skills to effectively manage own work and adhere to tun around times
– Quality orientation to facilitate management of series provided by partners and adherence to laid down polices a procedures in remedial management operations.
– Report Writing skills.
– IT skills as on has to interact with numerous systems from Microsoft office etc
4. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
– University degree preferably in Law, Accounting / Finance and Business Administration
– Relevant professional qualification in banking risk management recovery, and law
– At least 5 years work experience as a Recovery Manager handling corporate clients.
