JOB ADVERT – INTERN COMMUNITY PROJECT (01 VACANCY)
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit Intern Community Project to join our team. The successful candidate for this position is expected to align to the Barrick DNA and drive a change within his/her team and the business and on a practical note will ensure activities in the Social & Environment Department are effectively planned and undertaken in a safe and cost-effective manner to achieve targets in accordance with BGML Mining Safety Standards, Policies and Procedures.
Reporting to: Community Project Officer
Work Schedule: Rotation Status (5 Days On, 2 Days Off)
Duration: 1 Year
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to own and lead the journey to zero and walk the floor to deliver a safety culture across the site.
Ensure all community projects are implemented and completed on planned timeframe.
Liaise with both Districts Msalala and Nyang’hwale on community project issues for resolution to ensure on-time project completion.
Ensure community project site visits are conducted as scheduled.
Identify any negative deviations from the approved project plan and advice way forward on issues identified for corrective measures.
Establish and manage relations with independent contractors, vendors to ensure quality service delivery.
Facilitate payment for community projects including review of the document submitted to BGML by service providers.
Collaborate with technical teams from both districts to conduct quality control for community projects.
Lead the Community Development Committee (CDC) and come up with sustainable projects (review the district strategic 5 years plan and advise the CDC team on implementation phases for each project)
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Project Planning Management, Community Development, Business Administration and Entrepreneurship Education
Valid driving license
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
6 Months to 1 year experience preferably in mining or related industry
Quick learner with a passion for developing people
