JOB TITLE: Hot Kitchen Chef

Baker Job Description:

  • Food Preparation: You will be responsible for preparing a wide range of hot food items, including main
    courses, side dishes, and sauces. This involves cutting, chopping, marinating, and seasoning
    ingredients as required by the recipes.
  • Cooking: The main task of the hot kitchen is cooking food to order. You must be skilled in various
    cooking techniques, such as grilling, sauteing, frying, baking, broiling, and roasting.
  • Recipe Adherence: You must follow recipes and food preparation procedures to ensure consistent
    quality and taste of the dishes.
  • Time Management: Working in a hot kitchen can be fast-paced, especially during peak hours. The staff
    must be able to manage their time efficiently to ensure that dishes are prepared and served in a
    timely manner.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene is crucial in the hot
    kitchen. This includes proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients, as well as regular cleaning
    and sanitizing of kitchen equipment and surfaces.
  • Station Organization: Keeping the station organized and stocked with necessary ingredients is
    essential for smooth operations.
  • Collaboration: Hot kitchen staff must work as a team and communicate effectively to coordinate the
    preparation and plating of dishes.
  • Plating and Presentation: Ensuring that dishes are plated attractively and presented in an appealing
    manner is important to enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Inventory Management: Keeping track of ingredient levels and communicating with the kitchen
