Health And Safety Officers

HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER (2POST)

Job location: Dar es salaam

Reports to: Plant Manager

Duties and Responsibilities.

• Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risk
• Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine
  inspections
• Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company
• Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and
  other relevant topics
• Monitors all Compliance with safety procedures
• Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings
• Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed
• Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/ or pollutants,
  as required
• To ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety
• Social and environmental laws procedures guidelines and specification and to provide
  advice on measures needed to minimize hazards
• Maintain compliance with all safety regulations.
• Standardize health and safety in order to remain consistent
• Identify hazardous waste and disposing of it correctly
• Regularly inspection equipment’s
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Chemical Engineering or any other related
  field from a recognized institution
• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing industry handling health and
  safety role

Key Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in use of MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, Internet and E-Mail, MS-Excel.
• Exceptional communication skills
• Good Presentation Skills
• Good understanding of environmental Laws
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
