Our school was created with a clear purpose: to provide a high-quality, student-centered education that nurtures the whole child — academically, socially, emotionally, and creatively.
We believe schools should be places where students feel safe, valued, and inspired to think independently, express themselves confidently, and discover their unique strengths. As a growing school, we are building a learning community grounded in empathy, creativity, and excellence.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and visionary Head of School / English Teacher to help lead and shape our school from its early stages. This role combines instructional leadership with classroom teaching and is ideal for an experienced educator who is passionate about mentoring, collaboration, and whole-child development.
The successful candidate will teach English at the secondary level while also overseeing academic quality, supporting staff development, and contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture. This is a leadership role with the opportunity to make a lasting impact on both students and teachers.

  • Support and mentor teaching staff to ensure high standards of teaching and learning
  • Observe classrooms regularly and provide professional guidance and feedback
  • Help develop and implement academic policies, curricula, and school routines
  • Collaborate with NEEMA International leadership to support school development and growth
School Culture & Community
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful school environment
  • Lead by example in professionalism, empathy, and collaboration
  • Build strong relationships with students, staff, and the wider community
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Student Wellbeing & Development
  • Promote social-emotional learning and mental health awareness
  • Create a safe and supportive learning environment where students feel heard and respected
  • Encourage creativity, individuality, and personal responsibility
  • Support students’ academic, emotional, and social development

Qualifications & Experience

  • Holds a degree in Education, English, or a related field
  • Has experience in school leadership or academic coordination (required)
  • Demonstrates strong instructional knowledge and modern, student-centered teaching practices
  • Values mental health, empathy, and whole-child education
  • Is adaptable, open-minded, and excited to help build a growing school
  • Enjoys working closely with students and staff in a community-focused environment
  • Experience in international or developing-school contexts is an advantage, but not required.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to help build and shape a new secondary school from the ground up
  • A supportive, mission-driven nonprofit work environment
  • Teacher housing provided
  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • A beautiful setting in the Kilimanjaro region
  • Most importantly, the chance to make a meaningful and lasting difference in students’ lives
