Job Purpose

To oversee and review all communications materials for the Donor and Sponsor Relations teams ensuring engaging and consistent language and accurate representation of The School brand. To provide mentorship and capacity building for the Sponsor, Supporter and Donor Relations teams to ensure good quality content is produced.

Responsibilities

  • Check that all communications materials detailed in annual communication plans are relevant, timely and creative.
  • Provide personal assistance in communications projects and procedures to the F&D Sr Manager
  • Suggest creative improvements to the current communications strategy across all teams.
  • Provide editorial support to the F&D Sr Manager.
  • Review all templates and communications materials created for sponsors and donors to ensure accuracy of grammar and alignment with school’s Language Guidelines, Editorial Policy and approved key messages.
  • Provide content creation and copywriting support to the Team Lead- Sponsor Relations, Team Lead- Marketing, Strategy and Impact and Team Lead- Supporter Relations.
  • Apply The School Editorial Policy to all content assigned to you and provide advice to department team members about its application.
  • Work with Head Office and academic teams in accordance with approved communications and authority protocols.
  • Audit previously used communications materials to ensure all current materials are consistent to the school brand and avoids repetition.
  • Work collaboratively with managers and department team leads to ensure Fundraising teams communications are accurate and written in the professional and personable house tone and style – the School’s ‘voice’, adhering to the Language and Style Guide Procedure and the Editorial Policy.
  • Planning and drafting new communications materials.
  • Drafting of general thank you templates, tailored templates and other communications materials.
  • Auditing, reviewing and updating existing communications materials.
  • Drafting and editing thank you email templates on behalf of the Founder as directed.
  • Drafting and editing replies on behalf of the Founder as directed.
  • Replying to email queries, issues and complaints that may negatively impact school’s reputation, sponsorship commitments and operations of the department.
  • Identify solutions to sponsor queries and issues in consultation with the F&D Sr Manager and, as required, the Founder.
  • Write campaign aligned communication materials with the support of the Marketing team for the Donor, Supporter and Sponsor Relation teams
  • Draft ad-hoc specialised mailings to VIPs on behalf of the Founder.
  • Research and advise Supporter and Donor Relations team members on the creation of communication materials, providing support and ideas to the on new content and themes
  • Provide training for team members in consistent use of the Branding and Style Guide.
  • Mentor team members to develop communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Facilitate problem solving and collaboration within the team.
  • Attend weekly and monthly team meetings, including planning and monitoring meetings.
  • Attend monthly Team Lead’s meeting with the F&D Sr Manager.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrated high level of conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills and proven ability to successfully apply them to donor management.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Ability to plan, implement, monitor, report and drive continuous improvement of team activities and projects.
  • Demonstrated high level written, verbal and visual communication skills, in English, including ability to create compelling communications materials and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical deadlines to achieve KPIs.
  • Ability to provide mentoring and training for colleagues
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Degree or higher qualification in marketing, communications, fundraising or international development viewed favorably.
