Position: Field Facilitators – 3 positions

IITA is looking for a suitably qualified person to fill the position of Field Facilitators to be based in Siha District – Kilimanjaro
Responsibilities:
- Assist in project coordination between farmers, extension and BioSSA researchers with the assigned cluster.
- Assist with layout, planting and management of the trails
- Collect plant and soil data from established trials.
- Keep proper records of demonstration plots and the recorded data.
- Submit weekly report on the demonstration trials to BioSSA scientists.
- Arrange field visits to the demonstration trials as directed by BioSSA project Coordinator
- Train farmers in proper handling and application of effective bio-input products.
- Any other duties that may be assigned by project management.
Educational Qualifications
- The candidate should have a Diploma in Agriculture with specialization on crops research and management.
Core Competencies
- Relevant work experience in agricultural research of at least 3 years.
- Good understanding of the maize and beans cropping system in Tanzania.
- Ability to work with and maintain a good relationship with famers.
- A good Knowledge of farming systems in Siha District
- Be a good team player and highly self-motivated.
General information:
The duration of the contract is 4 months. This is a nationally recruited position and IITA offers a competitive remuneration package.
