Job Description
This position provides the leadership and direction for the daily planning, scheduling and coordination of all maintenance activities in the workshop for mobile equipment in an effective way as required by terminal operations with the adherence to the safety, performance, security, quality and productivity
Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of mobile equipment’s performance in the fleet in line with the business objectives to satisfy customers.
- Help accomplish objectives by bringing a systematic approach to analyze and improve the effectiveness of the workshop maintenance activities.
- Prepare periodical KPI reporting for equipment utilization, availability, reliability, MTBF, MTTR etc.
- Review annual maintenance plan for each equipment to ensure 100% compliance.
- Review internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs), SOPs, Work Instruction for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure the adherence to the discipline and to the security in the technical department.
- Ensure an economical use, efficient and productive of resources of the workshop of the mobile equipment.
- Lead and develop all staff in the mobile equipment team in line with the department/business aspiration of having competence and dedicated staff in the department/company.
- Ensure that the execution of all maintenance plan (scheduled/unscheduled) done correctly according to SOPs, efficiently, minimized risk and to the optimum cost while looking after the highest availability possible of the mobile equipment between the intervals of maintenance planned.
- Being informed on the last technological developments while inquiring through new manuals about the mobile equipment from manufacturers.
- Work on a training plan to improve the competency of each member in the workshop team.
- Ensure of the work conditions secured and conducive to all members.
- Advise Head of the Engineering all potential problems concerning the equipment, with best recommendation how to fix the problems for further deliberation before implementing.
- Assist the Head of Engineering for the establishment of the budget while providing the necessary elements to the mobile equipment.
- Assist part purchases with clear parts’ description/requirement while defining the optimal levels of inventory for spare parts of the mobile equipment.
- Ensure a good communication between different departments/sections and his team.
- Carry out all other work considered appropriate to manage the tasks and objectives, to reach highest productivity with an efficient use of the mobile equipment.
Knowledge and Experience
- Graduate in mechanical/mechatronic engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the operation & maintenance of heavy vehicles, workshop operations and with a keen interest in best business practices and process improvement.
- Knowledge of equipment automation.
- In depth knowledge of mobile equipment’s mechanical & electrical system functionality, engineering, resource planning, procedures, business processes, budgeting and related financial controls.
- Knowledge of Safety, Environmental and Security and how they relate to terminal.
- Analytical thinking towards successful process continuous improvement and procedures.
- LEAN six sigma knowledge / 5S
- Project Management experiences/skills.
