Medical Assistance Officer shall be responsible to provide professional medical assistance services including Fully manage medical assistance subscription packages, emergency response coordination, medical case management, hospital admission coordination, medical evacuation coordination, and continuous patient monitoring to ensure efficient and high-quality medical support to clients
Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes, monitors, and manages all assigned medical assistance cases from case opening to closure.
- Receives and responds to medical assistance requests via phone, email, dispatch system, or walk-in clients.
- Develop and fully manage medical assistance subscription packages
- Coordinates ambulance dispatch services for emergency and non-emergency cases.
- Coordinates hospital admissions, referrals, and patient transfers.
- Coordinates medical evacuations including ground ambulance and air ambulance (MEDEVAC).
- Monitors patient progress and provides regular updates to clients, families, and management.
- Liaises with hospitals, clinics, ambulance providers, air ambulance operators, and specialists to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Ensures proper documentation and maintenance of medical assistance case records.
- Ensures guarantee of payment (GOP) and cost approvals are properly coordinated.
- Reviews and verifies medical reports, treatment plans, and medical invoices.
- Ensures smooth and efficient communication between TMHS EMS, hospitals, and clients.
- Ensures all contacts with clients (phone, email, SMS, or in person) provide the highest level of professional customer service.
- Maintains updated database of medical service providers, contacts and other stake holders
- Assists in developing and implementing EMS operational policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly EMS case reports.
- Ensures confidentiality of all medical and client information.
- Assists in marketing EMS medical assistance services to hospitals, corporates, and insurance companies.
- Builds and maintains strong professional relationships with key stakeholders
- Assists in quality assurance and continuous improvement of EMS medical assistance services.
Qualifications
- Minimal qualification Bachelor Degree in Nursing/Diploma in Nursing or relevant
- Experience working in Medical Insurance is added advantage
- Three years working experience in any reputable organization
