Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to acquire new SME and business clients across various sectors.
  • Identify and pursue high-value SME prospects through market intelligence, referrals, and networking.
  • Lead client onboarding processes, ensuring compliance with KYC/AML and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote and cross-sell a full suite of banking products including business accounts, loans, trade finance, POS/QR solutions, and bancassurance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with SME clients to drive customer satisfaction and long-term value.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (credit, operations, product) to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and risks.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports, pipeline updates, and forecasts to senior management.
  • Ensure adherence to risk management frameworks and drive resolution of audit findings.
  • Mentor and support junior sales staff or agents in achieving their targets.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Strong business development and relationship management skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities
  • Deep understanding of SME banking products and market dynamics
  • Analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools
  • Ability to work independently and lead acquisition initiatives

Academic / Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, or a related field
  • Professional certifications in sales, credit, or banking are an added advantage

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in SME or business banking
  • Proven track record in client acquisition and portfolio growth
  • Experience in managing a sales team or working in a target-driven environment is preferred
