The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project is part of the Lake Albert Development Project, a 1,443-kilometer transnational long-distance pipeline development project that can transport crude oil from Uganda to Tanga Port on the east coast of Tanzania. 

The EACOP system is divided into three components, above ground installations(AGIs), pipelines and offshore storage terminals (MST). The above ground installation (AGI) consists of 6 pumping stations (PS-1 to PS-6) and 2 pressure reducing stations (PRS-1 and PRS-2) along the pipeline route. The pipeline consists of 1,443 kilometers of 24-inch continuous heated export pipelines, connecting the Kabaale hub pumping station (PS-1) in the Hoima region of Uganda and the Tanga region storage reservoir in Tanzania. The pipeline includes all intermediate valve chambers, electric heat tracing (EHT) systems, high voltage distribution (HV) and fiber optic (FO) cables and related equipment, as well as the EHT substation. 

Main Contractor China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Company Ltd (CPP) irresponsible for the constructing 1,443km 24in oil export pipeline (PPL), 8 aboveground facilities (AGI), the main line block valves and trace heating station, 16 mainc amp and pipe yards (MCPY), with 4 in Uganda and 12 in Tanzania.

Position: Mechanical Engineer 

China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co Ltd (CPP)

Job Description 

• Clarify technical issues relate to mechanical documents.
• Communicating with CPY/EPcmC/CTR’s construction team at site.
• Fill in and provide relevant technical data, analyze technical problems on the construction site, and provide construction technical services to the unit.
• Participate in optimization and design changes in the AGI construction, and be specifically responsible for the preparation, reporting and execution of documents related to optimization or engineering changes. Carry out project technical exchanges and training activities to improve the management level of crew technicians, prepare application of Change Procedure.
• Report the situation and problems in the technical management to the Field Engineering Representative.
• Interface management.
• Participate in construction technology innovation activities, do a good job in the compilation, collection and arrangement of technical innovation, innovation, construction methods and other materials, and write technical work summaries.
• Preparation of responses to technical queries. Resolve unexpected issues faced at SITE, review SITE technical queries (clarifications, discrepancies, deviations relevant to the construction documentation and/or SITE WORK) and NCR process, recommend responses as practicable for Field Engineering implementation
• Ensure to maintain a complete set of up-to-date red line mark-ups AFC drawings at SITE, available for field use and inspection. Redlining and update engineering documentation.
• Ensure that the delivered materials and equipment are properly erected, preserved, and tested in accordance with the construction documentation approved in AFC and all approved technical field instructions,
• Prepare and document repair procedures as deemed necessary to support construction teams.
• Achieve Pre-Commissioning engineering related to punch items. (13)Ensure the preservation of equipment is adequately maintained (support to CONTRACTOR preservation team).
• The control of all documents issued to the field as per the latest MDR, with reference to the applicable Document Management Procedures.
• Review and comment on deliverables such as Method Statements/ Procedures/ Quality Plans, for the engineering part.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirement 

• Fluent in English, can communicate with CPY/IPCC/CPP engineer face to face.
• Proficient in writing English. 
• At least ten (10) years of direct experience in engineering activities of which five(5) years must be in mechanical engineering. 
• Proficiency in at least Auto CAD, Microsoft Office operating system(including but not limited to MS Office, MS Excel, PowerPoints etc.) 
• Have internationally projects experience in engineering, construction management or site coordination.
