NEONATAL CARE UNIT (NCU) PROJECT
AT KWIMBA DISTRICT HOSPITAL, MWANZA, TANZANIA
The Doris Mollel Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government, Jhpiego Corporation, and Kwimba District Office intend to prequalify contractors and/or firms for the construction of the proposed Neonatal Care Unit. The NCU is of a single-story T-shaped configuration with a total built-up area of 2,667 m² . The building will house a general ward, high-dependency unit (HDU), kangaroo mother care (KMC) unit and supporting areas including nursing stations, staff areas, and utility rooms.
The NCU has masonry walls with stone cladding, aluminum sliding windows and solid core flush doors. Finishes are of high standard, with ceramic tiles and suspended ceilings. The Mechanical/Electrical installations are highly specialized to support modern neonatal care requirements.
It is expected that invitations to prequalify shall be made in January, 2025. A complete set of the prequalification document, in English, will be forwarded to those who apply for prequalification.
The applicants will be informed by email. Documents can then be collected from the Doris Mollel Foundation’s Office or received by email, and the same shall apply to return submissions. In the case of email submissions, a physical copy with all relevant details must also be sent to the Doris Mollel Foundation’s Office at the address indicated below.
Interested Contractors, already registered or eligible to register under Class I, II, III, IV or V with the Contractors Registration Board in Tanzania, should submit their application of interest to the email address [email protected] by 22nd January 2025 and be clearly marked: “Application to Prequalify for the Construction of the Neonatal Care Unit (NCU) at Kwimba District Hospital, Mwanza”
