APM Terminals Tanzania– Inland Services is currently looking to hire a candidate to take up the new role as (CFS) Container Freight Station Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:
Managing the efficient on day-to-day Container Freight Station (CFS) operations and be responsible for all CFS yard operations.
Be Customer centricity and drive the consistently deliver the right levels of the services.
Provide robust and visible safety leadership and alignment to eliminate potential hazard in the CFS.
Prepare daily, weekly, monthly report to different stakeholders
Drive collaboration among the team, alignment with other departments and build teamwork.
Maintain asset records and ensure Optimal utilization of the equipment (Reach stackers, forklifts and other company assets).
Manage stakeholders and other internal and external parties, impacting on the business Pursue volume targets and consistent customer traction
Set individual targets, for direct reports and measure their performance
Manage team engagement
Ensure the CFS is working in line within the AP MOLLER Maersk, health and safety policy guidelines
Ensure operational documents are updated in Masterfile (LOGSTAR / IFS / SOPs)
Attract, develop and retain talent through frequent operational / system training at the CFS.
Conduct employee under reporting line appraisals, approve leaves
Control and monitor container stock take in 48 hours, and 10-day yard stock taking. Reconciliation of physical stock / security register against system.
Making sure all operational data entry is correctly updated in systems in daily bases.
Responsible for all yard operations performance
Immediate reporting to Site Manager / Management for any outside of norm issues.
Capturing internal stakeholders KPI’s and other performing inputs.
Ensuring IMS (HSSE Policies and standards) is implemented actively: SOP’s, process flows, and related documents are up to date and adhered to by the staff, special attention being on safety.
Running the daily and weekly operation meeting.
Determining needs and planning staff development, assigning employees.
Coordinating operational activities with specific vendors on daily basis according to SOP.
Maintaining proper shift handover procedures as per SOP.
Requirements
5+ years of experience planning day-to-day terminal operations.
Experience on receiving and handling cargo activities (accommodating cargo, Empty containers, Terminal operations, customs clearance)
Experience and knowledge of Process and Terminal procedures (cargo handling)
Achieving Results – Be aware of key business objectives and ensure these are applied appropriately to all operations.
Building Relationships – Able to develop effective relationships with key staff and be recognized as providing a supporting role.
Operations Awareness – Able to identify new opportunities and be aware of the associated risks.
Communication – Good communication skills suitable for the liaison with departmental staff and senior management. Demonstrate good communication, both orally and in writing, with colleagues.
Understanding Company operations – Understands and promotes Company strategies, policies and procedures.
Problem Solving and Decision Making – desire to solve problems in a measured and creative way. Capable of independently assessing a wide variety of tasks and be proactive in relation to identifying and undertaking activities that are to the benefit of the business. Be responsible for own decisions.
Applying standards – Good in application of relevant industry and process standards to all
