Reporting Responsibilities:
The Auto-Electric Technician will report to the Vehicle Workshop Supervisor.
Duty Station:
Mavimba, Ulanga District, Morogoro Region
Objective:
The Auto-Electric Technician will execute routine maintenance on the vehicle fleet at KVTC’s Mavimba industrial site and in-field operations. This role is responsible for checking, servicing, fault-finding, and performing maintenance while ensuring accuracy in all workshop-related tasks.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Diagnose automotive issues, with a focus on auto-electrical aspects, and identify required repairs.
- Execute approved repairs effectively.
- Extensive experience with 2-stroke and 4-stroke engine repairs.
- Perform repair or replacement of components (damaged or service), including brake pads, wheel bearings, and sensors.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires.
- Collaborate with other departments to fulfill their requests efficiently.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Certification in auto mechanics from a recognized Tanzanian training facility.
- Proficient in auto-electrical and mechanical duties.
- Experience using vehicle electrical and mechanical tools with superior troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification in auto-electrical and mechanical from a recognized Tanzanian training facility.
- 10 years of experience in an industrial vehicle workshop environment.
- Valid driver’s license covering motorcycles, LDVs, and trucks up to 8 tons.
- Qualifications in operating heavy equipment like Bell Loggers, TLB excavators, and forklifts are beneficial.
- Willingness to relocate and reside in Mavimba Village, Ulanga District.
