The Tanzanian office is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and qualified Audit Associate to join the Audit and Assurance Department.

Overall role
The role involves assisting the team with the execution and administration of audit assignments, ensuring completion to a high standard within an agreed timetable. Candidates must be motivated, client-service focused, and uphold the company’s ethical and professional standards.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Assist in executing audit engagements under supervision using the firm’s international methodology.
- Participate in pre-audit scoping and preparation.
- Support in identifying audit risks and evaluating client internal control structures to highlight weaknesses and improvement areas.
- Analyze data collected and maintain detailed records of results.
- Complete assigned tasks to a high standard, meeting reporting and auditing standards.
- Demonstrate professionalism in dealings with clients and staff.
- Build knowledge base and develop the ability to take on complex tasks and responsibilities.
- Act as an ambassador of the firm, ensuring client retention and promoting new opportunities.
- Assist in preparing simpler financial statements and management reports.
- Answer client audit queries knowledgeably and promptly.
Skills and attributes
- Strong understanding of audit roles, techniques, planning, documentation, testing, conclusions, and reporting.
- Excellent skills in Excel, report writing, IT, and communication (verbal and written).
- Proactive in developing technical knowledge and staying updated on accounting/audit regulations.
- A team player with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills, initiative, and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Research skills to analyze company documents, budgets, and market trends.
Qualifications and experience
- O-Levels: Division 1 or 2, or equivalent.
- A-Levels: 3 B’s or above, or equivalent.
- Degree (preferably in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Economics) with First Class or Upper Second (2:1), or equivalent.
- Relevant experience is an advantage.
- Must be willing to pursue a professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CPA).
