Rift Valley Cooperative Union (RIVACU LTD) is a Secondary Cooperative Union based in Babati, Manyara region. RIVACU Ltd was registered in 1988 under the Cooperative Act of 1984. RIVACU LTD is currently operating under the Co operative Societies Act No 06 of 2013.

RIVACU Ltd wishes to invite all suitable and qualified Tanzanian to apply and fill the following available vacancy:

AGRICULTURAL FIELD EXTENSION OFFICER (1 Vacancy) Nature and Scope 

The successful candidate will report to the General Manager. She/He will be  responsible for providing agricultural field extension services to member aiming at  improving agricultural production and productivity. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Supervise and coordinate extension services in areas of RIVACU LTD operation;
• Provide extension education and services to farmers;
• Collaborate with Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) to run model  farms;
•  Assist in dissemination of research results to farmers;
• Assist farmers to adopt good crop farming practices; 
• Advice farmers on the use of better seeds to increase production;
• Collect and maintain agricultural statistics and agricultural prices;
• Engage with farmers to solve agricultural related challenges and encourage  the use of appropriate agricultural technology
•  Conduct soil quality tests;
• Perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the  Supervisor. 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience: 

• Holder Diploma in General Agriculture, Agricultural Field/Extension or related  field from a recognized institution; 
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a related field or functions from a  reputable organization.
