1 .Position: Survey Technician (Ref: JHCL/ST/01/20) – 1 Position

Duty Station: Mine Site – Mbinga, Ruvuma

Reports to: Mine Surveyor

Job Summary

A Survey Technician supports mine surveyors and engineers in conducting accurate surveys, collecting essential data, and maintaining surveying equipment. This role combines fieldwork, data processing, and administrative tasks to ensure precise mapping, measurements, and documentation at mining sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting surveys at mining sites, including surface and underground areas.
  • Operate surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
  • Collect and record survey data accurately.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot surveying instruments.
  • Contribute to creating topographical maps, contour surveys, and elevation measurements.
  • Assist in volumetric calculations using survey data.
  • Support data analysis and collaborate with engineers and geologists.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations.

5 . Position: Grease Man (Ref: JHCL/GM/01/20) – 1 POSITION

Duty Station: Mine Site- Mbinga, Ruvuma.  

Reports to: Workshop and Maintenance Supervisor.  

Job Summary: 

A Grease Man is responsible for changing oil, greasing and preventive maintenance and  washing/cleaning of vehicle and equipment. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Familiar with equipment maintenance and oil lubricants quantities for each machine.
  • Familiar with greasing and draining points of any vehicles and equipment.
  • Having mechanic background in 4,5,6,8 and 12 cylinders.
  • Can fill-up control and update the maintenance records on daily basis.
  • Familiar with oil and grease and grades and all types of filters.
  • Holding original Heavy Duty driving license.
  • Can Speak, write and read English language.
  • Knowledge in engine starting and can drive light vehicles.
  • Performing any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time

Key Qualifications: 

  • Formal education and professional qualifications.

Relevant working experience. 

  • A minimum of five (5) years working experience as Grease-man/Lube-man for  all types of equipment and vehicle both in workshop and sites.

6 . Position: Tyre Man (Ref: JHCL/TM/01/20) – 1 POSITION

Duty Station: Mine Site- Mbinga, Ruvuma.  

Reports to: Workshop and Maintenance Supervisor.  

Job Summary: 

A Tyre Man is responsible for removal, repair, installation and maintenance of tyre in  heavy equipment such as Dump trucks, graders, backhoes, front end loaders, mobile  cranes, light vehicles truck, bus, van and other tyre mounted heavy mining, construction  equipment as well as light duty vehicles assigned by the supervisor. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repairing all equipment tyres within mobile equipment fleet.
  • Analyze premature tyre failures and come up with suggestions to improve.
  • Performing safety checks on tyres, inflation accessories and tyre stripping accessories.
  • Provide on job training to less experienced personnel.
  • Assist repairing contractor tyres if instructed by supervisor.
  • Adhere to health, safety and environmental procedures and guidelines.
  • Complete all tasks as instructed by supervisor.
  • Perform field level risk assessment prior starting tasks.
  • Ensuring the level of housekeeping is maintained to the maximum.
  • Filling tyre change out slips and submitting copies to stores supervisor.
  • Assisting stores personnel doing tyre stock count.
  • Attend tyre breakdowns in the pit and other areas where JHCL equipment are available.
  • Performing other maintenance duties as instructed by supervisor.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills: 

Academic and Professional Qualifications 

  • Ordinary Diploma with related field. 

Experience 

  • Must have 3 to 5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in a mining or a related field.

Other relevant skills/experience 

  • Experience and skills required. 
  • Experience within the tyre industry including COSTAR, is an added advantage.
  • Sound communication skills. 
  • Ability to work autonomously or in a team. 
  • Must be hard-working, honest, punctual and reliable. 
  • A general mechanical knowledge would be considered advantageous.
  • A manual driver’s license is essential. 
  • Willing to train the right person if necessary.

Reports to: Managing Director. 

Job Summary: 

A Legal Officer is responsible for ensuring legal compliance, risk mitigation, and legal  protection for business operations. The role plays a critical function of providing legal  counsel, handling regulatory matters, and managing legal contracts to support safe,  responsible, and compliant business activities. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Legal Compliance 

  • Ensure that mining operations comply with all relevant local, state, and international  laws, regulations, and permits. 
  • Stay up to date with changes in legislation and regulations affecting the mining  industry and advise the organization accordingly. 
  • Interpret laws and regulations relevant to the organization’s activities and advise on compliance requirements. 
  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to  legal requirements. 
  • Certify and attest legal documents on behalf of the company

Contract Management 

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts related to mining activities, including  exploration agreements, lease agreements, and supplier contracts. 
  • Ensure that contracts are legally sound, protect the organization’s interests, and comply with applicable laws. 
  • Ensure compliance with business legal statutory requirements for the ongoing business  operations.

  • Ensure that the organization’s actions and policies are in line with ethical standards  and corporate governance principles.

8. Position: Truck Machanics (Ref: JHCL/TM/01/20)

Duty Station: Mine Site- Mbinga, Ruvuma.  

Reports to: Workshop and Maintenance Supervisor. 

JOB SUMMARY: 

A truck mechanic is responsive for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing light vehicles and  smaller equipment used in mining operations. The role involves diagnosing mechanical issues,  conducting routine maintenance, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of light-duty  vehicles and equipment. A truck mechanic plays a key role in minimizing downtime, optimizing  vehicle performance, and ensuring a safe working environment. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Vehicle Inspection and Diagnosis 

  • Inspect light-duty vehicles, including trucks and vans to identify mechanical, electrical,  or hydraulic issues. 
  • Diagnose problems using diagnostic tools, visual inspection, and discussions with  vehicle operators. 

Repairs and Maintenance 

  • Conduct repairs and replacements on faulty parts, components, or systems to restore  vehicles to operational status. 
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid  checks, to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.

Technical Expertise 

  • Utilize technical manuals and manufacturer specifications to understand vehicle  systems and repair procedures.
