Job Summary 

Lutheran World Relief (LWR) a U.S.-based organization whose mission is to end poverty, injustice, and human suffering is part of the Corus International family of organizations (www.lwr.org). LWR has worked in Tanzania since 1961 in the agriculture, livestock, livelihoods, and health sectors. LWR seek to fill different positions for its five-year $35M U.S. Department of Agriculture Food for Progress project, all positions are based in Mbeya, Tanzania. Position: Deputy Chief of Party

The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) in collaboration with Chief of Party, the DCOP serves as the primary liaison with project technical leads, government, local implementing partners, LWR’s headquarters, and project stakeholders.  S/he fosters collaborative working relationships and leads the direction of the project team with an integrated vision and applies effective leadership and strategic planning skills. Position: Extension Service and Training Lead

Lead on outreach between private sector entities and farmers. Supervises sub-grantees undertaking bird extension services, ensuring quality and consistent support to sector actors. Leads deployment of SBC campaigns to increase farmer knowledge on better and economic GAHP of poultry in Mbeya, Iringa, Songwe and Rukwa. Position: Feed and Animal Health Lead

Feed and Animal Health Lead serves as the principal lead on poultry feeds, feed formulation, additives and concentrates, and lead on poultry health, vaccinations, treatment, and biosecurity. Supervises effective climate-smart approaches to enhance crop supply for feed. Main point of contact in engagement with the GoT’s Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries Development and MOA.
