Position: English Language Teacher.

Reports to: Academy Manager.

Location: Mbarali-Mbeya, Mulungu Village.

Start date: Immediately.

OVERVIEW

Six Rivers Africa (SRA) is a non-profit organization with a mission to protect, restore, and
preserve wilderness areas, and increase the wildlife population so that the flora and
fauna can be enjoyed for generations to come.
Six Rivers Africa has established a renown Six Rivers Africa Training Academy (SRATA)
aiming to reduce employment crisis by strengthening the employment prospects of
young people from around the Ruaha National Park who show a passion for wildlife
conservation, but who may not be able to afford tuition fees.

JOB PURPOSE

  • We are looking for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English language
    instruction to students.
  • The English Teacher will inspire students to develop a love for speaking, reading, and writing English with the aim of improving their communication skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To help students improve their English language skills.
  • To develop students’ ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • To prepare students for success in tourism and other institutions through
    English as a medium of communication.
  • To foster a love of learning and appreciation for the English language in students.
  • To organize classroom sessions.
  • To prepare materials and activities like English language clubs and debates.
  • To assign interesting exercises to students.
  • Identify students with special requirements and create individualized plans.
  • Determine exam and assignment grades.
  • Provide feedback based on classroom behaviour and student’s progress.
  • Keep a record of students’ attendance and grades.
  • Research new language teaching methods.
  • Manage classroom crises and resolve conflict.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and administrators to foster a good student
    experience.
  • Any other duty(ies) that may be assigned by supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • At least Certificate or Diploma in English Language teaching or any other related
    field but has demonstrable experience in facilitating friendly English language
    classes.
  • Previous experience on teaching or facilitating people to speak and write English
    of at least one year.
  • Experience in teaching NGO academies/Centres will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and able to convey information to learners.
  • Knowledge of various teaching methods focusing on spoken English.
  • Deep understanding of the English language.
