Summary: Headquartered in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, Duteni Company Limited (“Duteni”) is a small but vibrant growing entrepreneurial company offering premier solutions to our corporate clients and unique experiences to our tourism clients. Due to our growth, we are looking for a qualified, high energy, creative, trustworthy, customer experience-centric, result driven, passionate individual to fill our newly created position of Operations Manager. The Operations Manager will join company’s leadership team and will play a central role in executing company’s growth strategy.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Working closely with the company directors, you will coordinate and oversee the tourism, corporate services, soft skills training, project management and all other Duteni operations in the United Republic of Tanzania.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Sales of variety of corporate services, investor services, translation, corporate training, consultation, transportation, tourism and safari products offered by Duteni
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating company operational policies and processes in order to improve efficiency and productivity
- As needed hiring, training, managing, evaluating, motivating and offering direction to office staff, operations staff and tour guides & drivers
- Lead and promote company culture that encourages collaboration, top performance and high morale
- Effectively manage all day to day operations of the company, consistent with company standards while achieving optimal financial results
- Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company
- Maintain company vehicles and equipment
- Closely coordinate and execute all tour and corporate services offered by the company
- Coordinate the creation & management of itineraries for discerning clients from start to finish
- Ensuring the safety of clients and offering them unflinchingly exceptional superior services
- Coordinate online Duteni cultural programs and lessons
- Oversee and advise company’s senior management on quality and process improvements
- Manage a broad variety of administrative, operations, sales and business strategy tasks. Completing and compiling reports, attending executive meetings and preparing agendas and minutes
- Be ready and willing to train and work in all areas of the business for the company.
- Making sure the company is always in compliance with all applicable Tanzanian government regulatory requirements
- Communicate internally and externally with high attention to detail regarding grammar, spelling and verbal communication
- Keeping track and paying close attention to deadlines and client schedules
- Representing the company in meetings and community events
- Help manage & expand Duteni’s marketing campaigns and social media platforms
- Working closely with company directors and consultants, take a lead role on Company’s soft skills training program
- Build professional relationships with employees, clients, vendors, agents, industry contacts, organizations, hotels and groups
- Ensure new clients and retention goals are met and exceeded at all times
- Live and practice Duteni culture, mission and vision
- Enforce and make sure communication is timely, effective and efficient per Duteni standards
- Performing other duties as directed, developed, or assigned by the senior management and or directors from time to time
Minimum qualifications for ideal candidate:
- At least 2+ years of verifiable experience in a similar role (in operations and leadership)
- Passionate and proven track record of running project operations
- Need to have basic knowledge of budgeting, accounting, sales, HR management, business financing and marketing
- Exceptional people and project management aptitudes
- Possess robust ability to analyze and strategically break down challenging problems into smaller, actionable solution steps
- Have curious mind, an innate passion for learning and strive for continuous improvement
- Good negotiation skills and safety first mindset
- Willing to walk the extra mile, possess a hustle mindset and do not let obstacles prevent you from reaching SMART goals
- Some evening hours, public holidays and weekend days will be required in addition to special event coverage in order to meet job requirements
- Having a valid Tanzanian’s driver’s license is an added advantage
- Excellent writing skills, reporting skills, time management and verbal communication
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a high degree of integrity, quality and accuracy
- Competency to make critical decisions and work in a fast paced, high pressured environment
- Must be a driven, confident, fearless personality.
- Someone who is comfortable around people, flourishes in a collaborative environment and has exceptional attention to detail and multi-tasking capabilities
- You are a take charge person who is willing to roll up your sleeves and not waiting to be told what to do
- Ability to work effectively, independently and adhere to strict deadlines without close supervision/direction
- Working knowledge of computer with particular focus on graphics (Canva), CRM/sales platforms as well as Microsoft Office Suit

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in operations/project management, economics, logistics, finance, business management/commerce, hospitality, tourism or other related analytical fields.
