Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resource Manager to join our team in the oil and gas industry. As the Human Resource Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR functions, policies, and practices within the organization. You will play a key role in attracting, developing, and retaining top talent while ensuring compliance with relevant labor laws and industry regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the goals and objectives of the organization and the specific needs of the oil and gas industry.
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits, compensation plans, and payroll processes, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular assessments of the organization’s HR practices and policies, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions.
- Advises and leads managers and staff with employees relations issues, including interpretation and application of collective agreements, excluded terms and conditions, employment and human resources policies, and labor management relations;
- Conducts reviews, investigations, and disciplinary hearings;
- Provides support to managers to assist in developing job descriptions, classification reviews and organizational changes;
- Supports and delivers recruitment activities to source top talent for various departments.
- Develops, prepares, and maintains, organizational charts, metrics, and reports;
- Supports the organization’s occupational health and safety (OHS) program through the provision of guidance with respect to applicable acts, regulations, guidelines, policies, procedures and strategies;
- Supports the organization in OH&S claims management and accommodation; and
- Collaborates with the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee and implements recommendations where necessary.
- Manage and oversee HR projects, such as organizational restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and change management initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and effective communication.
Knowledge and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree preferably in a Human Resources or Social Sciences or any other related discipline.
- An MBA would be an added advantage.
- At least 10 years’ experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Knowledge of strategic and business planning frameworks, principles and techniques.
- High level of analytical and performance management skills and ability to pay attention to detail.
- Sound knowledge of project and change management
- Ability to demonstrate support for innovation and for organizational changes needed to improve the organization’s effectiveness.
- Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
