Know our team
Nutrition International’s Program Operations Unit is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of Nutrition International’s core program interventions including program development, design, planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting, and grant management, including setting annual operational planning, budgeting, and review processes. The unit comprises a global team of professionals located in our 10 core countries across Asia, Africa and our headquarters in Ottawa, Canada. Nutrition International is seeking applications for Program Assistant to be based in Dodoma, Tanzania.
About you
You have a college or university degree Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other related field from a recognized university. You have 5 years’ experience working in an office environment in a similar position. You possess work experience in database management. You Possess strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. The ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment will be considered an asset.
About the role
contribute to the effectiveness of Nutrition International (NI) program in Tanzania through providing efficient program and administrative support services to the program staff to ensure timely and efficient micronutrient program delivery, in line with NI’s policies, procedures, and objectives.
In this role you will:
be responsible for assisting program officers in preparing all necessary documentation related to program activities in line with Program Finance Processes and Procedures manual. This includes preparing grant agreements, contracts, purchase orders, travel letters, budget reallocations, project extensions and/or supplements, project completion reports, and regular project completion reports and project summaries.
In addition, the Program Assistant will assist NI program staff with the management and tracking of program budgets, milestones, and reports to ensure that all obligations are met by the recipient and NI. Other duties include day-to-day project administrative responsibilities, monitoring project budget expenditure, liaising with grantee on the submission of technical and financial reports, administering consultancy assignments, collecting data and statistics from websites for projects, and updating the Contract Database.
