So They Can is a not for profit organisation committed to empowering children living
in poverty through education….because every child matters.
Our Story
‘Please build a school for our children, education is the only inheritance we can give them.’
This one request from a community crisis in 2009 has changed many lives for the better… and is continuing to do so.
Our Mission.
263 million children are not in school worldwide. Education is the key to breaking the poverty cycle.
Our mission is to work with local communities and governments to provide quality education to children living in poverty in communities in Africa.
We will achieve this through improved learning conditions, teacher training and development, child well being, women’s empowerment and community engagement and health.
Why Education?
The United Nations’ Global Goals for Sustainable Development aim to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and protect our planet by 2030.
To do this, children need to receive a quality education. “Obtaining a quality education is the foundation to improving people’s lives and sustainable development.” — United Nations
