The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) (Swahili: Chuo Kikuu cha Dar es Salaam) is a public university located in Ubungo District, Dar es Salaam Region, Tanzania. It was established in 1961 as an affiliate college of the University of London. The university became an affiliate of the University of East Africa (UEA) in 1963, shortly after Tanzania gained its independence from the United Kingdom. In 1970, UEA split into three independent universities: Makerere University in Uganda, the University of Nairobi in Kenya, and the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) admission and selection process have been finalized the for the 2024/25 academic year. The UDSM admission process have been conducted as per TCU Admission Eligibility Requirements including direct entry qualifications (Form Six Qualifications), Foreign Secondary Education Certificates qualifications, equivalent entry qualifications, (Ordinary Diploma or Equivalent Qualifications, Foundation Certificate granted by the Open University of Tanzania)

UDSM has officially released the 2024/2025 academic year selection results through its official website and through the applicant’s admission portal accounts. Applicants can now visit the official UDSM website to check the status of their applications.

However, successful applicants with multiple admissions are required to confirm their admission from 3rd to 21st September 2024. SELECTION RESULTS:

ROUND ONE – 2024/2025

Selection results for Round One are now available in applicants’ accounts at https://admission.udsm.ac.tz. Please log in to your application account to view the results. We Congratulate and Welcome all those selected to join the University of Dar es Salaam.

Important information:

Candidates with single admission at UDSM are automatically confirmed to join UDSM.
Candidates with multiple admissions must confirm their offers through their admission accounts. Please request a CODE, enter the CODE on the given slot, and finally click CONFIRM.
Confirmed candidates will be served with Admission Letters in October 2024

September 03, 2024: Multiple admission status displayed in applicants’ admission accounts and confirmation of admission offer begins
September 21, 2024: Deadline for confirmation of admission offer

Please note that failure to confirm by the deadline will indicate that you have not accepted the offer, and other applicants will fill your slot.

How to Check UDSM Admission Status

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) has officially released the selection results online through its official website and the admission portal. Prospective applicants can now check if they have been selected to join the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM)

To check your application status, you need to follow these steps:

• Visit the official UDSM admission website: https://admission.udsm.ac.tz/.
• Go to the ‘Login’ section on the home page of the website.
• Log in to your account that you used to apply to join UDSM by entering your Username and Password to access your account.
• Once you log into your account, you will be welcomed by a message informing you of your application status. If you have been selected, you will see a message saying “Congratulations, you have been selected to join UDSM for the 2024-2025 academic year.” If you have been selected by more than one university, you will see a message indicating that you have Multiple Admission; please confirm your admission. If you have not been selected, you will see a message informing you that you have not been selected and the reason for not being selected.For applicants who have been selected to join UDSM, they need to download the Joining instructions and follow all the guidelines and instructions provided in the joining instruction or admission letters regarding registration and other procedures to join the university.

Note that being selected to join UDSM does not mean you are officially enrolled at UDSM; you will need to follow all registration procedures and submit all required documents to become an official student of UDSM.

The List of UDSM Selected Applicants for 2024/2025

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) has announced the list of applicants selected for the 2024/25 academic year. All applicants who have multiple admissions are required to confirm their admission immediately to avoid losing their admissions. The procedure for confirming admission is conducted online through the UDSM Admission portal using a special confirmation code provided by TCU.

In addition, the list of selected applicants is now available on the UDSM website: www.udsm.ac.tz. Applicants who have applied for various courses at UDSM can check their names through the UDSM official website by following the steps below:

• Visit the official UDSM website www.udsm.ac.tz.
• Go to the ‘Announcements’ section on the home page of the website.
• Look for the announcement related to the list of students selected to join UDSM for the 2024-2025 academic year.
• Click on the List of UDSM Selected Applicants announcement to download the PDF and check if your name is on the list.
• Search for your name using the ‘Ctrl+F’ function on your keyboard for easier searching.
• Finally, if your name is on thae list, then you have been selected to join UDSM for the 2024-2025 academic year.

For applicants who have not been selected in the first round of admissions, they are advised not to lose hope and instead use the second application window to submit their applications, which has officially opened from September 3, 2024, to September 26, 2024.

Selected Applicants with Single Admission

The list of applicants selected to join UDSM for the 2024/2025 academic year includes applicants who have been selected by the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) only for the 2024-2025 academic year. If you have been selected to join at UDSM only you do not need to confirm your admission because you have already secured a spot directly. Applicants with Single Admission need to prepare for registration, which is expected to begin from October 19, 2024. Registration will involve submitting various documents outlined in the university’s joining instructions.

Regarding tuition fees, selected applicants are advised to visit the university’s website and download the joining instructions for more accurate information. Tuition fees may vary depending on the course and level of study.

Selected Applicants with Multiple Admission

Applicants who have been selected by UDSM and secured spots in other universities is a common occurrence in the admission process. This happens when a student with good qualifications apply to multiple universities and get selected with all the Universities at Once.

The TCU has provided an opportunity for students with multiple admissions to confirm their admission. This is because TCU admission regulations prohibit a student from being admitted with more than one university.

Moreover, the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) has provided a list of applicants selected by UDSM and with other universities. This list is officially available on the UDSM website. UDSM Selected Applicants with Multiple Admission

UDSM Multiple Selected applicants are required to confirm their admission by following the provided instructions. Applicants who will not confirm their admission on time will be removed from the list of selected applicants, and their admissions will be taken by other applicants. Therefore, it is essential to confirm your admission slot in time to avoid losing your admission.

How to Confirm Admission at UDSM with TCU Admission Code

Multiple selected applicants are required to confirm their admissions through a special confirmation code provided by TCU. The admission confirmation window is currently open from September 3, 2024, to September 21, 2024.

To Confirm your admission with the TCU confirmation code kindly follow the step by step guide below:
Obtain your TCU Confirmation code that will be used, or you can request it via SMS or email. This code is important as it will help you confirm your admission to the university.

• To initiate the admission confirmation, go to the UDSM admission portal: www.admission.udsm.ac.tz.
• Log into your UDSM admission portal account and enter the code provided by TCU through your phone number and email address.
• After entering the code, click ‘Confirm’ and you will see a message indicating that you have successfully confirmed your admission to UDSM.
