How to Check HESLB Loan Allocation 2024/2025

Dar es Salaam. The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) has announced the first batch of university students who were allocated with loans for 2024/25 academic year.

According to the board’s executive director, Dr Bill Kiwia, the list contains 21,509 students who will receive loans worth Sh70.78 billion.

The list, announced on Saturday, September 28, 2024, covers first-year students pursuing undergraduate degrees, students enrolled in the Law School for practical training, and Master’s degree students.

The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) announces loan allocations through the Student’s Individual Permanent Account (SIPA). If your application for the 2024/2025 academic year is unsuccessful, you won’t appear on the list. Allocations are released in phases, including the first, second, third, and fourth batches, with the first typically out around September or October. Follow these steps to check your loan status:

  1. Login to SIPA: Visit the HESLB Online Loan Application System (OLAMS) at https://olas.heslb.go.tz. If you forgot your password, reset it via the ‘Forgot Password?’ link using your registered email.
  2. Check Loan Status: After logging in, click ‘Loan Status’ to view your 2024/2025 loan application status.
  3. View Allocation: If successful, you’ll see your allocated amount and a breakdown of your disbursement schedule by semester, with dates and amounts.
  4. Unsuccessful Applications: If unsuccessful, you’ll see a message stating so, and you can appeal the decision if needed.
  5. Remember, HESLB loans are not guaranteed and depend on eligibility criteria such as Tanzanian citizenship, valid admission, financial need, and no outstanding loans.
