Guidelines For Samia Scholarship 2024 – 2025
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology announces the SAMIA SCHOLARSHIP funding program for undergraduate studies for students who achieved top grades in the Form Six examinations of 2023 conducted by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) in Science specialties (PCB, PCM, PGM, CBG, CBA, PMC, and CBN).
The SAMIA SCHOLARSHIP will fully fund (100%) higher education for these students who have secured admission in the fields of Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The scholarship will be awarded to Form Six graduates with the following qualifications:
- Must be Tanzanian;
- Must have high performance in the 2023 national Form Six exams conducted by NECTA in science specialties;
- Must have secured admission in a recognized Higher Learning Institution in Tanzania in the programs of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Medicine listed under Cluster 1 in the loan issuance guide of the Higher Education Student Loan Board for 2024/2025 available at www.heslb.go.tz;
- Must have accurately applied for the scholarship through the prescribed method.
AREAS OF FUNDING
Higher Education Student Loan Board to cover the following:
- Tuition fees
- Food and accommodation allowances
- Book and stationery allowances
- Specific faculty requirements
- Practical training
- Research
- Assisting devices for special needs student
- Health insurance
DURATION OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
The funded students will be covered for a period of three (03) to five (05) years, depending on the particular program they are enrolled in.

HOW TO APPLY
Applications for the Samia Scholarship should be submitted online at https://olas.heslb.go.tz within 14 days starting from September 25, 2024.
RESPONSIBILITIES/CONDITIONS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
The student who secures the SAMIA SCHOLARSHIP funding must adhere to the following:
- Must read, understand, and sign an Agreement of Study Sponsorship between him/her and the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology;
- Must have a bank account for direct payment of the funds;
- The beneficiary will not be allowed to change the funded program without written permission from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology;
- The beneficiary will not be allowed to defer studies, except for medical reasons, verified by the respective institution;
- If the beneficiary’s GPA falls below 3.8 during the academic year, the scholarship will be terminated;
- The beneficiary should register in the Students Management System available at https://scholarships.moe.go.tz/
- If the beneficiary forfeits the scholarship opportunity before starting studies, he/she should submit a written notice to:Secretary-General,Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology,Government City, Mtumba Area, Health Street,
