Academic Staff – Teaching Positions
Introduction
Tumaini University Dar es Salaam College (TUDARCo) is one of the constituent colleges of Tumaini University Makumira (TUMA). The institution was granted a Certificate of Full Registration by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) on March 29, 2007 and obtained its Charter and Certificate of Accreditation in 2010 and August 2019, respectively. TUDARCo is located along Coca Cola Road, at Mwenge Industrial Area in Dar es Salaam. At present, TUDARCo is being re-engineered and re-branded with a view to transforming it into a competitively dynamic and vibrant university institution. To that effect, TUDARCo is seeking to strengthen its human resource in teaching, research and consultancy, hence this advertisement.
Positions being advertised
School of Law and Justice (SoLJu).
Associate Professor of Professor (1 Position)
Specific Qualifications:
- Holders of PhD in Law from a higher learning institution recognised by TCU.
- The applicants must be able to teach Law courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and, in addition be willing and able to mentor junior staff.
- Being an advocate of the High Court of Tanzania will be an added advantage.
Lecturer (1) Position
Specific Qualifications:
Holders of PhD in Law from higher learning institutions recognised by TCU. The applicants must be able to teach Law courses at the undergraduate and Master’s levels. Being an advocate of the High Court of Tanzania will be an added advantage.
Assistant Lecturers (3) Positions
Specific Qualifications:
Holders of Master’s degree in Law from higher learning institutions recognised by TCU. The applicants must be able to teach Law courses in undergraduate and at the non-degree levels. Being an advocate of the High Court of Tanzania will be an added advantage.
School of Education and Human Development (SoEHD).
Lecturer / Assistant Lecturer in Kiswahili (ISIMU) (1 Position)
Specific Qualifications:
Holders of PhD or Master’s degree in Kiswahili from higher learning institutions recognised by TCU.
The applicants must be able to teach Kiswahili courses at undergraduate level.
Teaching experience as a Lecturer or Assistant Lecturer will be an added advantage.
Lecturer /Assistant Lecturer in History ( 1 Position)
Specific Qualifications:
- Holders of PhD or Master’s degree in History from higher learning institutions recognised by TCU.
- The applicants must be able to teach History courses in undergraduate level.
- Teaching experience as a Lecturer or Assistant Lecturer will be an added advantage.
Lecturer /Assistant Lecturer in Linguistic (1 Position)
Specific Qualifications:
- Holders of PhD or Master’s degree in Linguistic from higher learning institutions recognised by TCU.
- The applicants must be able to teach Linguistic courses in undergraduate level.
- Teaching experience as a Lecturer or Assistant Lecturer will be an added advantage.
Lecturer /Assistant Lecturer in Early Childhood Education (2 Positions)
Specific Qualifications:
- Holders of PhD or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from higher learning institutions recognised by TCU.
- The applicants must be able to teach Early Childhood Education courses in undergraduate level.
- Teaching experience as a Lecturer or Assistant Lecturer will be an added advantage.
Lecturer /Assistant Lecturer in Education- ODL (2 Positions)
Specific Qualifications:
- Holders of a PhD or Masters of Education in Open Distance Learning from higher learning institutions recognized by TCU.
- The applicant must have had hands-on experience in the teaching profession as a Lecturer or Assistant Lecturer in Online Distance Learning (ODL) and E-leaming programs for not less than ten (10) years.
General Qualifications:
- In addition to the above specific qualifications, the applicant must possess a minimum GPA of 4.0 or a B+ average at the Master’s degree level and an undergraduate degree with an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher from a higher learning institution recognized by TCU and assessed as potentially good academically for having the ability to engage in effective teaching, research, and consulting services.
- The applicant should have a consistent career progression in his or her relevant area of specialization from a bachelor’s to a Master / PhD’s Degree.
Remuneration
Successful candidates will be offered attractive packages commensurate with their qualifications and experience.

Certificates from foreign Universities must have been verified by the TCU.
Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level education must have been verified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
Presentation of forged certificates and forged document(s) will necessitate a legal action against the applicant.
