Tandahimba Community Bank is a profit making community bank which was registered as a business entity in 2005 and was registered and licensed by the Bank of Tanzania as a community bank in year 2008 to carry out financial services in Mtwara region.
The shareholders of the bank includes Tandahimba, Newala, Masasi and Mtwara Rural District Councils, Tanzania Growth-Registered Trustees, The Tandahimba Newala Cooperative Union (TANECU), Primary Schools, SACCOS & AMCOS, Village Councils, NGO and Individuals.

The principal business undertaken by the Bank is to provide banking and financial services by deposits taking through savings and fixed time deposits accounts, granting of credits in the agriculture, business and consumer loans. Other financial services include but not limited to providing payment services through traditional and alternative banking channels such as mobile banking, agency service and insurance services to the general public with special focus on micro, small and medium sized enterprises and peasants.
